Hikari is one of over 25 international artists featured in the next exhibit in the Japanese Friendship Garden's Inamori Pavilion: Cute, Cute Kawaii! Japan's Pop Culture Movement. The exhibit will open on June 23rd, and coincide with this year's San Diego Comic-Con.
Cute, Cute Kawaii! delves into the extra-adorable world of kawaii (cute) culture to look at how phenomena such as Hello Kitty/Sanrio, Totoro/Miyazaki films, cat video games/Pusheen, anime, and Harajuku, just to name a few, have shaped contemporary life in Japan. Curated by Jennifer Moreno and Christina Zakimi.
