Opening this Saturday, July 7th, Hikari will celebrate ten years with a showcase at her hometown museum in Japan, "The Catastrophe of Death and Regeneration".
Hikari is celebrating her 10th anniversary as an artist with an exciting, major mid-career survey at the Asahi Art Museum in Japan. Opening on July 7th, her exhibit "The Catastrophe of Death and Regeneration" will showcase works spanning 2008-2018, including her largest painting to date. Hikari's art will be on view at Art New York this week, with a new painting from her Children on the Edge - 14 Years Old series. Her work will be on display over at Corey Helford Gallery booth# ANY210. The series first debuted in Hikari's solo exhibition at the gallery earlier this year in January, entitled "Children on the Edge".
Hikari has re-imagined the iconic Japanese anime Sailor Moon, whose heroic magical girl protagonists provide the inspiration of her own characters.
