Inspired by the Japanese manga and anime from her youth, Shimoda’s work expresses modern day issues in colorful and illustrative techniques. About her new series, she shares: “I continue to create works with the theme of "how we live in this world, sorrow, loneliness, and salvation." This time, by juxtaposing the themes that I have created so far, I would like to create an exhibition that cross-cuts and expresses people living in the present age.”
